The Three Kingdoms Institute aims to enhance U.S. understanding of China’s growing global influence and the Chinese culture, philosophy, history, and traditions that undergird China’s meteoric rise.
The Institute is named after a period in Chinese history that saw fierce battles and rivalries, as well as legendary strategy and clear-eyed thinking. We hope we can help offer some clear-eyed thinking for the grave challenges China presents to America and the world in the 21st century.
The Institute’s programming includes China vs. USA, our flagship podcast; the Lion’s Roar, our video channel and newsletter connecting Chinese culture with Western martial arts; and regular op-eds, articles, writings, and commentary on China.
As anti-Asian violence spiked in the United States in 2021, the Institute began providing documentation, commentary, and analysis of the horrific incidents. We are also working with other Asian-American organizations across the country to advocate for concrete solutions.
